Daniela Salgado, a Las Cruces High School student, watches a rocket she launched at the Lou and Pat Sisbarro Community Park in June 2022 during the Crimson Summer Institute at NMSU for the TRIO Upward Bound Gadsden Independent School District/Las Cruces Public Schools Program. Following two years of virtual programming, the Aggie Academy Mini College program returned with an in-person, 30-day summer session where TRIO Upward Bound participants were introduced to lesser known majors and careers. Also in June 2022, NMSU was awarded $5.2 million in federal grants for the next five years to continue to support three TRIO Upward Bound Programs in southern New Mexico.
