"My mom has an agricultural background, and my background is in marketing, so we make a great team. This is because I utilized social media to the fullest for my business. Social media has been very successful in bringing in new business and creating a community that I talk to and engage with every day. My biggest advice to small business owners is to have fun with social media, get creative, and tell your story to your community.
We know it can be challenging to wear many hats as a business owner, but social media can be an outlet to have fun. We love what we do here at Valley Farms New Mexico, and you can see it when you visit our Instagram. We create fun reels and have created a bright and fun aesthetic for our page. We post constantly on our stories, as if we are talking to a close friend showing the not-so-perfect side of flower farming and making light of it. We get so many comments on how fun our Instagram is, and it is a true testament of our passion of farming flowers here in the Southwest. We always tell our social media family, ‘Farming, but make it cute,’ and you can see this message displayed on our social media. So, have fun and don’t be afraid to tell your unique story about your business.”
