England-Kennedy earns national mentoring award

NMSU Public Health Sciences Assistant Professor Elizabeth England-Kennedy ’12 received the 2024 Karen Denard Goldman Health Education Mentor Award from the Society for Public Health Education.

The award honors a national SOPHE member from an academic or practice setting who has distinguished themselves as an outstanding mentor, made significant contributions to the preparation and performance of health educators and successfully forged a link between practice and research.

England-Kennedy has a doctoral degree in medical anthropology from the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in public health from NMSU. Her professional specialties include the intersections of health and culture, One Health, health equity, social and environmental justice, behavioral health, suicide and suicidality, and homelessness.
