Pete's products: Aggie-branded consumables available online

Aggie fans near and far have a chance to share their support for NM State Athletics programs in a multitude of ways, including with the frosty brew they choose at a home game or the salsa they serve up at home with friends. 

A growing list of Aggie-branded products available online offers the opportunity for graduates to show their school pride and put their money where their mouth is. 

There are plenty of NMSU-licensed consumables for fans to choose from. Products range from sweet to spicy – and the majority share the Pistol Pete theme. The list has expanded in recent years, and every purchase supports not only local business partners, but also hundreds of Aggie student-athletes who benefit from a portion of the proceeds through NMSU’s licensing agreement. 

“This is where the win-win comes in,” Director of Athletics Mario Moccia ’89 says. “New Mexicans love to support New Mexico products. Supporting small, family-owned New Mexico businesses is a win-win-win for NM State Athletics and has been a staple of our family of collegiate-licensed products.”

The newest products rolled out in 2023 include Pete’s Provisions, farm-fresh New Mexico pistachios produced by Heart of the Desert Pistachios and Wines, and Pistol Pete’s Pecan Treats, cookies with New Mexico-grown pecans and milk chocolate morsels produced by Snugglecubs Cookies. 

“It means a lot to us to be a part of an institution with a great history in agriculture as well as the pursuit of greatness through higher education and Aggie athletics,” says Maria Massey ’92, regional store manager of Heart of the Desert. 

“This collaboration with NM State Athletics to help support student-athletes perfectly aligns with the vision of Snugglecubs Cookies when I created the company five years ago,” says Suzanne Slauson, Snugglecubs Cookies founder. “Our goal has always been to create cookies that bring people together, evoke comfort and joy, and celebrate as a family. With this partnership, we get to do just that while supporting the amazing student-athletes at NMSU.”
