Aggie Career Studio provides career development support

NMSU launched Aggie Career Studio, the university’s central career center, in January 2026. Formerly the Office of Experiential Learning, Aggie Career Studio is a centralized hub dedicated to preparing students for success.

“With the support of university leadership, we expanded our team and built the infrastructure necessary to serve students more holistically,” says Aggie Career Studio Director Trish Leyba ’03 ’14 ’18. “The rebrand was a natural next step. I wanted a name that reflected innovation, ownership and momentum; a place where students are empowered to take an active role in shaping their professional journeys.”  

Aggie Career Studio provides career exploration, career readiness workshops, résumé and cover letter reviews, interview preparation, internship and job search support, career fairs and experiential learning opportunities to students. The office also partners with faculty and staff to offer classroom presentations, career readiness workshops, employer engagement support and collaboration on experiential learning initiatives. 

“Our goal is not simply to host events; it is to build sustainable talent pipelines that strengthen both our alumni organizations and our university,” Leyba says. 

Jaqueline Acosta ’25 attended the Career Connections Career Fair in February 2025 as a recruiter for Green Summit Landscape Management for which she is an install project administrator. 

“We are grateful for the partnership and would be very interested in participating in future career fairs or events, especially within the horticulture, environmental science or other majors related to landscaping,” Acosta says.
